Elder Dwight A. Harwell is
married to Evangelist Cherie K. Harwell, he is the proud
parent of three wonderful children: Chernique, Michael and
Louise. He has four grandchildren: Derrick, Michael,
Carmichael, and Kenidi. He is the son of Eardie and
William Harwell of Indianapolis, IN.
As I reflect upon the past years events, one
thing that changed my life was when I decided to volunteer my
time at the Salvation Army. I had prayed to God to bring
me out of the confines of the four walls within the church.
Although I do minister as God leads me this was quite
different. After meeting and speaking with the
director of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Salvation Army,
God confirmed both of our prayers. He had prayed that
God send someone to help out. I had always believed that
God called me to a greater purpose.
As Christians we sometimes have a tendency
to judge people in the way that they dress, worship and pray,
forgetting that we all had a starting point in this Christian
journey and we have all had issues that brought us to our Lord
Jesus Christ. personally, I never thought that God would
use me to change other people's lives nor did I know that he
would use those same people to change my life and outlook
toward bringing souls to Christ.
